If you get the motorcycle fixed, you will be able to present it in a more positive light. If you do not get the motorcycle fixed, you should be expected to get lower offers than you expect.

Get it Online

One of the most important things to do when trying to sell a motorcycle is to make it available online. Putting used motorcycles online will open them up to the entire nation (or world). You significantly increase the audience that is looking for a motorcycle. Putting your used motorcycles online could help you to expedite the selling process.

Get it Sold

The last tip to selling motorcycles is to make sure that you are constantly trying to get it sold. Do not be discouraged; if you are unable to sell a motorcycle in a quick fashion, try to figure out what you are doing wrong, or what extra things you can do to get it sold. If you do not try to change your approach, you may have an even more difficult time.

Wanting to start a motorcycle shop in Ventura County, CA?
It started out as a hobby for my husband.....he traded a new stereo we had for a 1974 Honda CB 360 and started tinkering with it. He got it running well and made it into a Cafe Racer. He modified it, built the seat from scratch and painted it. He rode the bike around for a while and decided to sell it. He sold it for over $2000. Since then its become a great way to make a little extra cash. But now we want to make it a legitimate business. From what we understand buying and selling motorcycles without a dealers license can land us in hot water. Something about "curbstoners" and ignorant buyers???? :-) So what I'm wondering is this, does anyone know some of the basics I need to know to start this type of business? We're thinking about building the bikes into Cafe Racers as well as selling just the seat and other merchandise. It seems to be a big thing to people in this particular circle. But the whole motorcycle / DMV is where I'm mostly concerned. So any info would be great! Also, I saw an old posting about something similar so........ I know I live in California and everything is expensive. So I don't really need any "California Bashing". You don't like it here? The US has 49 other states you can live in! :-P Thanks!

How many motor cycles can be sold from a private home address before it is classed as a business and is a traders licence or insurance needed ? Sorry I mean in the UK but the answer from the guy in the USA rings a bell with something I have heard in the UK can anybody also point me in the right direction (web site) that I can get this information Thanks

Lawyer related question. Sold motorcycle that had hidden damage.?
I bought a motorcycle from a previous owner (private sale) in TX. The title is a clear title. I had the bike for about 8 months then sold it to someone else (private sale). He has had it for about a month. He just got a 4000 mile inspection on it. He took it to a dealership and when they were inspecting it, they found that the frame had been damaged and welded back together then spraypainted black. It looked like a cover up. That person I sold it to now wants to take me to court and have me take back the motorcyle and give him back his money. I had no clue this was an issue at all. I never took it anywhere to get work done on it, never even had the oil changed as I had only had it for about 400 miles. I need to know what I need to do to protect myself, if I can actually be in trouble and if I do return the funds and take back the bike, if I could then go after the previous seller. Any help would be much appreciated as I have no idea what I am in for. I dont think its just as simple as selling it 'as is' cause it looks like that kind of frame damage would salvage the vehicle, its just not on any sort of report anywhere or on the title.

Selling motorcycle--should I allow a test drive?
I'm selling my motorcycle, which is pretty much brand new (only 400 miles) with no scratches on it. I have a few interested parties that are coming to look at it next week, and someone asked me if they could test drive it to, obviously, make sure it runs well and that they like how it rides. I'm a bit nervous allowing this, though, because 1) I'm letting a stranger take off with the keys to my motorcycle and 2) I'm afraid they'll drop it or crash it and put scratches on it. I do understand their desire to test drive it since they're spending a large amount of money. Anyone ever been in this situation before? What should I do?
