The northernmost province of Ha Giang developed with the migration of the H'mong people who arrived from south China about 300 years ago. Ha Giang's natural environment bears the same characteristics as other mountainous areas; that is, an unfavorable all year round dry climate with little rainfall, constant fog in the winter, and rocky unfertile soils cut across by countless streams. Due to transportation difficulties, the province has long been an isolated border area with little contact between the local ethnic minorities and the provincial governments.
The scenery through to the coast is magnificent, the craggy mountain ranges covered in mystic clouds make travellers feel like wandering in a fairyland, valleys between the mountains are enhanced by spectacles of coloured villages each with distinctive architectural features and fascinating spots for watching the sunset. If World Heritage had a cultural hotspot for diversity, this would be it. There are an estimated 20 ethnic minorities in the area. If lucky, or planned well, the weekly market in Meo Vac will provide an opportunity to see this wonderful mix of cultures and people.

Roads are currently under construction and biking terrain is anything from wet, slippery mud baths to 1-meter wide rough gravel mountain passes. If you're looking for an adventure you know where to find it.
Those who have come here will be amazed at the exotic ethnic cultures of which local fairs are characteristic. It is recommended that travellers come on New Year's day when khen' dancing, music played with instruments made from leaves, folk songs, traditional corn-made alcohol and the bizarre custom of stealing the bride' will keep you amazed forever. The total route is 1, 300 km, equivalent to 40-45 hours on a bike.

My business idea:
I want to ride my Harley-Davidson motorcycle all day and get paid for it. I would like to offer fully organized and catered motorcycles tours in the Sacramento, California area and someday expand to all of the United States. The business name Motorcycle Tour Guide is too easy. I love Heavy Metal music and I thought of the name Heavy Metal Motorcycle Tours. It was a play on words because Harley-Davidsons are heavy metal and weigh 650 pounds.

Advice about a motorcycle touring holiday in Europe please.?
Myself and my husband are thinking of taking the bike from the UK on a tour through France and down to Switzerland next year. It will be our first 'bike trip' abroad and ill be riding pillion. We should also have a couple of friends in a van to carry luggage etc.
Is there any advice you could give us? ie is there an age limit to ride abroad (my husband will be 22/23 when we go). Are there any special permits/documents we will need? Will it pay us to pre book accommodation or should we use Youth Hostels or just try and get a place to stay as we go?
Also, what happens if we break down whilst we are away? Obviously we will get the bike fully serviced before we leave but it is a fairly old bike (1989 Honda CBR600F) Hopefully we should have a new bike before then though.
Or would it just be better to book the whole holiday through a Bike tour company and essentially book the whole 'package' including guide, accommodation etc?
Any advice is gratefully appreciated.

Motorcycle touring in France? Roscoff (NW France)-Bordeaux-St Tropez?
Amazing- there are no books about motorcycle touring in France on Amazon. In fact, there are only a couple for the whole of europe. America by contrast has loads. I am planning a trip from London- Cornwall- Plymouth- Roscoff- Bordeaux- St Tropez. I have 4 days to burn it from Roscoff (NW Tip of France) to St Tropez. I only want to take A or B roads. I want to know which are the best ones. Touring websites promise everything but deliver nothing as far as I can see. Anyone know the best route (or part of the best route) to take? Or even a good book/ website? Many Thanks.

Motorcycle tour - name that tour!?
I am organising a motorcycle tour around Victoria and Southern NSW Australia, we live in Lake Macquarie, NSW but I need a name for the tour to put on our shirts. For instance earlier this year we rode around Tasmania and that was called the 'Map O' Tassie Tour'
I would like a reference to touring Victora (like something to do with them being Mexicans - south of the border perhaps), it needs to be humorous and short - what ya got?
We call ourselves 'Rabble (without a cause)' - that about sums it up, all different bikes, all about 50 but like to and know how to party!
