With a bad economy will 2009 be a good year to find used motorcycle bargains?
Going thru the used motorcycle for sale adds, I have noticed many late model bikes for sale by taking over payments and even some late model Harley's going for less than $5000. I have a big garage, would it be a great investment to buy up these bargain bikes and keep them in storage, then resale them when the economy improves? example: 08 Yamaha 1300 V Star at $5000, a 07 HD 1200 Sportster for $5000, and I have seen many HD 883 Sportsters going for $3000 What do you think? Is the motorcycle madness buying spree over? Last year everybody was buying motorcycles because of the high gas prices, since President Obama lowered those prices, new and used motorcycle sales will fall? What are your 2009 and beyond forecast in motorcycle sales? yes,,, I know HD is in trouble, their stock is junk and they laid off and closed production plants, but Japanese motorcycles are still strong. yes, I can maintain and repair any bike with my eyes closed and one hand tied behind my back, I am considered a wizard on repairing motorcycles and atv's, strangers bring their bike to me after a dealership mechanic failed them. I wonder why top motorcycle dealership owners don't come to me on their knees and beg me to work for them as a mechanic. Don't dealerships understand how much business they could get by having the top motorcycle mechanic like me?

I found a 2004 Yamaha R1 (great condition) on ebay. I emailed the guy about it and did not get a response.... until the other day. Apparently he had to take the bike off ebay because he had a potential local buyer that fell through.
