Whats is the difference / pros / cons between powder coating my old bike and having it painted?
I have an old Trek road bike from 1975-80ish that was passed down to me by my uncle. Needless to say, it has a little rust. I am looking to strip the bike and have it sanded down and repainted. So I was wondering the difference / pros / cons between powder coating and painting. The painting I looked into was at a motor cycle shop where they could do fancy details and stuff (I'm not looking for fancy). The powder coating looks to be thicker. I am slightly concerned about my fittings fitting properly to the bike afterwords.
