Bell Bottom Pants For Women

When I was a kid in 1978, I had two pairs of bell bottom pants. The bell bottoms were also hip huggers. One pair was a powder blue pair. The other pair of bell bottoms were white with a red, white and blue waist band and bell bottom flair area. Back then the hip hugger bell bottoms were made out of double knit.

I wore the hip hugger bell bottoms out. They were so comfortable. Then again, with a broken arm, they were about the only pants I could get on and off by myself. Being a twelve year old, the last thing I wanted was my mom to dress me. Even though the clothes that I was wearing during this three month stint wasn't in fashion, the kids at school didn't make fun of me because of the reason I was wearing them.

Since during the last three months of school, there were two other kids in my class that had broken bones. So the hippie style clothes became a fashion trend for a while in our school; especially in our class. There were a few other less serious injuries of other kids that required them to wear clothes they wouldn't normally wear.

I kind of miss those pants on occasion because of how comfortable they were. At my age now, the reasons are different from the days of when I was twelve. I was looking through some of the patterns at about.com. I found a pattern on how to make bell bottoms. I didn't find one for hip huggers in the list I found first.

I was going to add hip hugger pants patterns but the only ones I could find were ones that you need to buy. I even did a search for low rise pants patterns and the same search results appeared.

Help me find good motorcycle pants!?
I ride with jeans all the time. They're almost too long for me, standing up. But when I get on my bike I have to hitch them up about an inch, kinda the way some men do when they sit down. The bottoms of my jeans then go completely up over my ankles like some lame-ass highwaters, and since they're slightly flared I get this flappy bell-bottom look. Clips won't help because they're just too short when I sit. Does anyone know of any cool pants that stay down, and that don't cost $275? I like the white Icon pants, but they cost too much. Any suggestions? Thanks :) p.s. I forgot to mention it's a sportbike, not a cruiser, so the riding position really pulls my pants up. p.s. again...to Molitor...if you knew me you would know how completely LOW maintenance I am. My b/f complains about the baseball cap and boots & jeans, but I'm not a stunner who can remove my helmet and swish my hair out like a supermodel. Far from it. It's just that when I come to a red light and put my feet down, look down and see the dorky highwater look it's embarrassing. I want my pants to cover the high tops of my little black redwings.
