Female Fashion Icons Of The 1970s
Like many of the vintage eras of fashion, it's not a difficult task to point out and admire the fashion monarchs who worked and reworked trends of today and yesterday. While bell-bottoms, halter tops, angel sleeves, suede miniskirts and fringe were common trends worn by masses, style icons like model Twiggy and socialite Bianca Jagger knew just how to wear these pieces and make them stand out. Female fashion icons of the seventies are still inspiring fashion stylists, music artists and magazine editorials to this day.
Bianca Jagger
Bianca Jagger is one of the most influential, stylish women of the 1970s. She is the former wife of Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, who was also a style icon of the 1970s and early 1980s. Bianca Jagger was a known jetsetter and busy socialite who could often be seen sporting glamorous furs and shimmering goddess dresses at the infamous Studio 54 night club. Bianca's signature style was definitely lady-like and glam and consisted of menswear, plunging v-necks, sequin maxi dresses along with bold prints. In March of 1974, Jagger was featured in an editorial by Vogue UK magazine that focused on her emerging style.
Cher is an infamous singer, songwriter and actress. In addition to these accomplishing titles, Cher was a highly influential trendsetter of the seventies. Even though Cher embraced most trends including hippie and glam rock, it was Cher's own exotic twist on things that contributed to her emerged status of 70s style icon. Cher was often seen wearing her long, black, silky hair at waist's length with the ever-so-popular centered part. Cher's style was so influential; she even helped to make bell-bottomed pants as popular as they were. Some of Cher's most memorable performance outfits including her Native American ensemble, and have helped inspire music artists and stylist of today.
Debbie Harry
Deborah Harry, also known as Debbie Harry or Blondie, was a punk rock artist and fashion inspirer of the late 1970s. Like Bianca and Mick Jagger, the platinum-haired singer was frequently spotted at the infamous Studio 54 displaying her glam rock sense of fashion. Debbie Harry often exhibited her fashion choices when on stage performing wearing influential T-shirts, leather jackets and platform shoes. In 1979, Blondie graced the cover of Rolling Stone magazine revealing an all red lady-like jumpsuit with just the right touch of punk and rock.
Twiggy
Model Twiggy served and collected much recognition in the fashion industry in the late '60s by covering more than 40 magazines. She continued this fashion train well into the '70s when she posed on the covers of three Vogue magazine issues. Her quirky but chic style quickly changed from mod in the '60s to a romantic, bohemian-chic in the '70s.

I just want to see what everyone else wears when riding for an hour or more?
Many of my riding buds think I go way overboard when it comes to my riding gear but, I had a friend do a get off at 35 and he had to have skin grafts on his legs and back and broke his collar bone. Which along with the pain came with a VERY hefty hospital bill. So here is all the gear i use when riding my 2007 yamaha yzf-r6. Full helmet, Icon leather jacket one size too big so I can wear chest and back armour undernieth, compression shorts, knee/shin guards, icon riding denims with Armid knee and hip panels (stuff they put in newer bulletproof vests) steel toe high ankle boots and a-star gloves. Ya all tallied up its about $1100 worth but I think its worth it! So what about you?
Bart you're an arrogant dumb s*** lol. But you can do with your life just as I can at mine. My wifes father has riden motorcycles for 60 years, three years ago while riding to the store someone ran a stoplight and he t-boned them and went into their back seat. I'm guessing 57 years of experience is more then you have lol
I didn't mean that everyone who doesn't wear ALL the gear I do is a arrogant dumb S*** but saying I'm to good I can't crash... lol that is.
