Custom Paint Color Options For Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles And Other Automobiles

Are you tired of the colors that automobile manufactures offer? Do you want your car to be different from everyone else? Then why don't you consider getting your car, truck, motorcycle, or any other type of automobile custom painted. Be forewarned, however; a Custom Paint Job can be expensive therefore it wouldn't advised to spend a lot of money having a car with little or no value custom painted. Expect to pay anywhere between $3, 000 up to $15, 000 for a custom job. Let's check out some of the available options.

Custom Paint Color Options for Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles and other Automobiles: Mirage Color Changing Paint

The company offers 5 different color kit options: Ice Kit, Purple/Green Kit, Silver/Green Kit, Gold/Magenta Kit, and Red/Blue Kit. Each kit comes with base coat, mid coat, and clear coat. Custom Paint Color Options for Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles and other Automobiles: Temperature Changing Paint

Yeah, you read that caption right. There is a line of custom paint on the market that actually changes paint depending on the temperature. This custom concept for cars and trucks is different from the ever popular Mirage angle color changing custom paint. This product can actually go from black to white, red to blue, and other options. According to Trippinpaints.com, "We could for example have a Viper painted on the hood of a Dodge Viper that would only appear when the engine got the hood hot, or real ghost flames that are invisible until activated. We can engineer the paint to change colors at any temperature between 0 F to 160 F." Trippin' Paints can also be reached at: 936-697-1520 or via the website Trippinpaints.com for more information or to purchase custom paint.

Custom Paint Color Options for Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles and other Automobiles: Flip A Switch & Change The Shade

If you are willing to wait until 2010 then you may be happy if Nissan offers consumers to be able to change the color of there car or truck with a flip of a switch. According to Ed Sherbenou in his article Color Changing Car Paint - New From Nissan he states, "A polymer layer with iron oxide crystals is the secret. These crystals alter their internal spacing when exposed to the electrical charge. Increasing the gaps between molecules modifies the wave-lengths of light which are absorbed and reflected. Nissans with color changing paint may be available by 2010."

Learning to custom paint cars; an impossible feat?
It dawned on me that i have massive potential to become a really great artist! here's why; 1) my whole life i've been surrounded by cars. by dad -who also painted cars- was always fixing them and rebuilding them in our garage. i often helped in taking things apart and making repairs. this does not exclude body work; (putty, sanding, prepping, priming, painting) 2) i've always been artistically inclined. drawing and painting were my strong points in art classes. (i admit, shading doesn't come easy to me) but matching colors, and landscapes / designs (even in a print making / graphic arts class) was always very easy for me. and i've always enjoyed painting, even the time that goes into prepping. whether it be painting bedroom walls, molding, paper, canvas, icing, or staining woods, etc. i find joy in even the tedious details. 3) BAKING! (sounds silly) but a lot of custom designs on cakes are done with airbrushing. (although i don't have extensive experience with that, i figure learning the airbrush is a double whammy for me, since i've always had the idea of being a cake decorator as well) 4) i mentioned that my dad used to paint cars for a career when he was younger. learning from him is like having free lessons, we have lots of space in rural pennsylvania (and probably lots of junk cars to practice on) so why not take advantage of this opportunity! another detail for fun is that my boyfriend who went to school to be a technician, dreams of working in- or ultimately owning a shop where he can work on cars and do custom jobs. imagine what a bonus if i were around to do custom paint jobs on top of that? so my ACTUAL question; is learning to paint cars, and do it well, an extremely rare 'gift' that i'll never be able to attain? or does it sound like i have the facilities to achieve this goal, and maybe make a little money off of my services? about how many years does it take to become REALLY good and comfortable with all different designs and techniques? would you recommend any kind of class or trade school- does such a thing exist? or is all painting self-taught like my dad? i'd appreciate any input you have about painting cars :)
