Custom Motorcycle Fairing
The 2010 Harley Davidson Road Glide Custom
Almost naked? What do you call a bike with bags and an upper fairing? A half-tourer? Hell, just call it a Road Glide custom and call it a day. A slightly different take on the semi-touring idea, the 2010 Harley Davidson Road Glide Custom shares a little bit with its sister bike, the Street Glide, but presents a very different style. On the 2010 Harley Davidson Road Glide Custom, you'll find the distinctive shark-nose fairing which incorporates storage spaces into the design, an optional TLE sidecar, and a slightly different seat from the Street Glide. Both are powered by the same engine, and have the same power ratings, so the question becomes not so much is one bike better than the other, but which one do you prefer?
The 2010 Harley Davidson Road Glide Custom is powered by Harley's proven Air-cooled Twin cam 96 engine, rated at 92.6 lb/ft of torque at 3, 500 RPM and fed with Harley's electronic sequential port fuel injection, giving the Road Glide Custom what are arguably the finest highway manners available on a motorcycle. Like the other Harley Touring models, fuel economy is rated at 35 miles per gallon in the city, and 54 miles per gallon highway, with the six gallon fuel tank returning more range than your butt is likely able to stand. The six-speed transmission features Harley's new Helical-cut fifth gear, a design improvement intended to improve the sounds coming from your transmission case.
Touring amenities on the 2010 Harley Davidson Road Glide Custom include such things as a CD player / stereo, dual trip meter, and a fuel level countdown feature. Cruise control is optional, as are ABS brakes, hooked up to the 32mm, four-piston fixed front and rear brakes. Also available is Harley's Security system, a $370 option.
Priced from $18, 999, the 2010 Harley Davidson Road Glide Custom's base color is Vivid black, but for $19, 479, you can choose from either Scarlet Red or Black Denim, all of which look great with the Black slotted five spoke cast aluminum wheels.
The 2010 Harley Davidson Road Glide Custom may be the sort of bike that doesn't really appeal to everyone, but truthfully, that's part of the bike's allure. Not everyone is supposed to like it. It isn't a cookie-cutter kind of ride, and anyone expecting that (from the styling, not the mechanicals) really isn't doing the 2010 Harley Davidson Road Glide Custom any justice.
