Custom Motorcycles & The Use Of Short Term Motorcycle Insurance

Custom motorcycles, such as Harley Davidson bikes, have become an icon among America's roads, bi-ways and highways. For many motorcycle owners, the need for custom motorcycle insurance is necessary especially if you only use the motorcycle for sporadic cross-country road trips. If you own a motorcycle, and if you are considering the types of motorcycle insurance to purchase, it is important to become familiar with your own driving style and when and where the motorcycle may be used.

Traditional motorcycle insurance is the type of insurance that most custom motorcycle owners will purchase, believing this is the only option made available to them. Should you carry a lien holder on your custom motorcycle, then the type of insurance you are required to carry may be determined by that lien holder and more often than not, the coverage will need to be traditional and comprehensive.

For motorcycle owners who own Custom Bikes and motorcycles, traditional motorcycle insurance will not be necessary if there is no lien holder on the bike title and you have the freedom to choose the type of motorcycle insurance you would like to use. Motorcycle insurance that is customized to your driving needs can be purchased in the form of short term motorcycle insurance or even temporary motorcycle insurance. Under the terms of these types of insurance protection, your policy is only paid for during the time that you require coverage for a cross-country ride, and you can choose the effective date and termination date to coincide with your drive. When not using the bike, and when the custom motorcycle is safely stored, you can opt to forego motorcycle insurance if you are not actively using the bike.

Traditional motorcycle insurance is generally not expensive but to save even more money on your auto insurance needs, try removing your custom motorcycle from your policy and simply purchase temporary motorcycle insurance coverage or short term motorcycle insurance coverage for the period in which you will actually be driving or riding the bike. While the cost savings will not be enormous, it does provide for saving a few dollars by not purchasing unnecessary motorcycle insurance and those dollars can be invested into other financial needs your family may have. The key to securing the best motorcycle coverage for your custom motorcycle needs lies in the assessment of the time you will be driving and only purchasing coverage when, and if, you have a cross-country ride coming up. Beyond that, if you do not ride your custom motorcycle often, then traditional motorcycle insurance may not be the right fit for you.

What size Bottom Bracket does a GT Bump 2008 take?
I have a GT Bump 2008 (Blue) frame and am building a custom bike on this frame from scratch. I'm building a custom bike but don't want to register it as a custom?
I don't wanna g through all the issues you normally do with registering a custom bike in New York state. Does anyone know where I can buy a title from? I looked all over craigslist and eBay for titles but have had no luck, even with part bikes. So if anyone has any suggestions let me know, thanks.

Who likes the older models of sportbikes rather than the newer ones?
Cbr,gsxr, kawasaki, etc.... I honestly prefer the 95-99 eras of these bikes, I do like a few models 00'-02' but not many. I believe sportbikes today are getting to "spaceship" looking. They all seem to look alike these days. They all look to pointy and dull. Even custom bike I've seen still don't look as good as late 90s era bikes do customized, I enjoy the fat look of the older bikes. Anyone else feel the same? And before negative answers, mind you I'm just throwing my opinion out. I'm not "dogggin" newer bikes.
