Some Motorcycles For New Motorcycle Riders To Consider

Did you just get your motorcycle license? Did someone take you out for your first motorcycle ride and now you want to get one of your own? If you answered YES then here is a review of some of the better motorcycles for the new motorcycle rider.

I will also be telling you some important facts about motorcycle riding along the way.

As a new motorcycle rider there are many things to consider equipment, clothing, conditions, and of course the reason your reading this the motorcycle it self.

Riding motorcycles is a very passionate sport or hobby. It is very exciting yet very dangerous. Know this that even the most experienced rider knows that every time he rides he is taking the chance to slide.

The only way you can be assured of never putting a bike down is to never drive one. Now what fun would that be. So keeping this in mind lets always remember safety first.

We are here to talk about the motorcycles themselves not the safety so with this being said lets compare a few bikes.

The bikes that I am reviewing for the new motorcycle rider are lower cc models, and imported models. The reason for the lower cc and imports are for a couple of main factors. One the lower cc means that in general the motorcycle is lighter, and wont have as much get up and go.

If this sounds like a bad thing let me assure you that it is not. You see with the motorcycle being lighter it will be easier for the new motorcycle rider to handle.

As far as not having as much get up and go the good point to this is that the new rider when spooked or in a situation they don't know how to react to they have a tendency to twist the throttle. If you have to much power this can cause the cycle to dart out into traffic, flip over backwards (a wheelie).

When looking to find motorcycle safety ratings it is next to impossible to find any. Motorcycles are not like cars and trucks. They don't have the crash protection in doors or in the frame. The best safety rating you can get for your motorcycle is to make sure that everything is working properly, you have good tread on your tires, Your brake pads and fluids are checked and all good.

I would also like to stress that safety equipment, and being alert are also very important to improve your safety rating of any motorcycle. Before you go for any ride you should look the cycle over for any problems. Stay alert to what is happening around you.

The new motorcycles I chose are also lower on price and the parts are less expensive so if something does happen fixing it and getting back in the saddle is done easier.

The new motorcycles are the Yamaha V Star 250, The Yamaha V-Star Classic, Yamaha TW 200, Kawasaki KLR 650, Yamaha WR 250 R, Kawasaki 250 S

Yamaha V-Star 250

This stylish street cycle comes with a MSRP of $3990. It gets an estimated 78 miles to the gallon of gas. This motorcycle weighs in at 324 pounds.

Yamaha V-Star Classic

Very similar to the V-Star with a larger cc motor around 650 cc's. The MSRP is $6590. It gets an estimated 49 miles to the gallon. The weight drastically goes up with this motor cycle. It weighs in at around 544 pounds.

Yamaha TW 200

This 200 cc cycle weighs 279 pounds, and gets an estimated 78 miles to the gallon. The MSRP is $4190. This motorcycle has a few added features. The tires are a little wider for added stability. It is also a enduro. Meaning it is good for both the street and the dirt.

Kawasaki KLR 650

With a MSRP of $5, 999. It weighs 432 pounds. When looking at this one it is another enduro and has a two gallon fuel tank.

Yamaha WR 250 R

Getting 71 miles to the gallon this enduro weighs only 298 pounds. It has a MSRP of $6390.

Kawasaki KLX 250 S

Another enduro that weighs 302 pounds. Has a two gallon fuel tank. Its MSRP is $4999.

I feel the weight of the bike will really help the new motorcycle rider also. If they get a bigger bike that weighs more it is easier for the bike to get off balance and tip. Also the new rider really isn't used to having to account for the weight of the cycle.

Now I personally feel the best way to learn is to find a used motorcycle That fits in your budget. Then get out and spend some time in the saddle. The more time in the saddle the quicker you will learn.

With a used motorcycle you won't feel so bad if and when you lay it down and it gets a ding in it.

If you've ever bought a new vehicle you know how you are till it gets that first ding or scratch. This could make the new motorcycle rider even more nervous then the all ready are and cause more grief.

Ok have fun out there. I hope this article and review of new motorcycles for the new rider helps you out, and remember keep the rubber side down. (tires on the ground)

When doing the research for this article the only places I had to look was www.donandroys.com, www.usnews.com
