Yes, I'm A Biker Chick!

Where do I begin! After years of playing it safe and watching my bucket list grow into infinity without relief ... I decided that it was time to take a bite of this enormous apple. But what do I do first? My list was endless and I wanted to do it all, but couldn't decide where to start. I think this was my issue all along ... if I can't do everything I will do nothing. In hindsight, I will tell you this is not the way to go!

So, on August 1st, 2009, I marched my 5'1 100lb self into the Orlando Harley Historic Factory dealership and started looking around. I knew I wanted to buy, but I have to admit I was scared. My fear only increased when I looked around at the plethora of incredible Harley Davidson's for 20 minutes and noone approached me to ask if I needed help. Could the stereotypes be true? Did I not look like a serious customer because I am a middle aged woman who is no bigger than a 12 year old boy before his balls drop?

Although I had never owned my own bike, I had been around them my whole life and was envious of everyone I knew who had taken the plunge. So, I decided I would start small and take a look at the 883 Low.

I was doggedly trying to peer at a shiny black model, but a very intrusive salesperson was sitting on it and chatting with some co-workers. After trying to make my presence known, by doing pirouets to no avail, I finally asked in the meekest voice to ever escape my lips, "I'd like to take a look at this bike, please".

The salesperson seemed startled, as if I had magically appeared out of thin air at that very moment. I couldn't believe he hadn't seen me ... I had been about as obvious as a bull in a china shop!

He graciously stepped away from the motorcycle and began to retreat then, as a mere afterthought, he chuckled "you lookin' around, little lady"?

What?! I couldn't believe my ears ... looking around? So, I puffed out my non-existent chest, like a peacock primping for his mate, and clamored "I'm here to buy"!

This good ol' boy almost fell over his size 14 boots as he spun around like a whirling dervish and practically knocked over an entire row of floor models! "Well step over here, little lady" he bellowed and the most beautiful smile and kind eyes were staring back at me. I didn't see ridicule in his countenance, just a person who took his job seriously and knew he may have made a judgement call too soon.

This giant of a man, Thaddeus, was a wealth of knowledge going through his mental checklist and asking me a lot of questions in order to make my experience memorable while also ensuring that I made a savvy purchase.

After we crunched the numbers and spoke to Sandy in the Finance Dept., I decided that, yes, I would purchase the 883 Low. After all, I still had to pass the DOT motorcycle endorsement class before I could mount my "Baby"!

My first day in the "Harley Club" was so endearing and unforgettable and I hadn't even shifted out of 1st gear, thanks to the Orlando Harley Historic Factory dealership family ... and the saga has only gotten more exciting over these past few years!

when you are riding your hog into town, dressed in leather, making a lot of noise, with all your roudy girlfriends. do you still stop for a pedicure.. or would you be too embaressed to walk into a salon with your biker gear on?

Would Reader Buy Star Wars Stormtrooper Biker Gear?
Yes, same armoured design seen on Bikers in Star Wars with wireless CB Channel to all other such helmets as a standard feature. All in uniform flat white if it were also DOT Certified? Full face helmet would have tilt-up feature rather than visor lift. Writer is bored with existing choices. Would reader also want to replace present day off-road impact product with flat white armoured Imperial outfits as seen in Star Wars if DOT Certified for that purpose? Do bikers want anomalous gear choices and some uniform anonymity? How about a blaster that doubles as air horn? Black has had its long run as evil. Evil also comes as flat white over cool black net one-piece undersuit and is more relevant to our morality. Choose between providing a face amid midnight promise or faceless flat white chilled armour uniformity? Yes?

I need a costume visual of a biker and baby costume?
ok here is the deal. I was talking to my daughter and I was telling her about a costume that I have seen just about every year that I thought would be cool for her or her brother to wear if we could make it. The problem is that she has no idea what I am talking about and I cannot find a picture. I was wondering if anyone here could find a link for me. I can see it clearly in my head but she doesn't seem to get it. The costume is that of a biker, in full biker gear with a baby on his back. The trick is that the head of the biker is fake. When you put the costume on, your head goes through the baby outfit but your feet and arms are that of the biker. anyone know what I am talking about? Can anyone find a picture? I have seen in vary a lot. The biker has been a zombie, a vampire, ect...any of those pictures would be fine. as long as I could show my daughter what I am talking about.
