A Streetbike Motorcycle Review Of The 2009 Ducati GT 1000 Touring
Somewhere along an Italian backroad, someone is having a great time on the motorcycle of your dreams. The 2009 Ducati GT 1000 Touring just might be that motorcycle. Featuring a windshield and chromed luggage rack, this Ducati is perhaps one of the best middle-weight commuter motorcycles available today.
The Ducati GT1000 Touring is a special edition of the GT 1000 for the 2009 model year, introduced in addition to a new color scheme on the GT1000 motorcycle. On the Touring-spec GT 1000, you'll find retro-styled chrome fenders, chrome passenger grab-rails, and of course, a detachable windshield.
The heart of the 2009 Ducati GT 1000 Touring is the 992cc air-cooled 4-valve V-twin engine which produces 92 horsepower and 67 lb/ft torque. Peak power for the Ducati GT1000 Touring is at 8, 000 RPM, while the torque band tops out at 6, 000 RPM. Features of the engine include a dual-spark design which increases mid-range power, reduced valve angle between intake and exhaust to create a more compact head, also resulting in increased engine power, and a six-speed gearbox with a wet clutch.
The Ducati GT 1000 Touring rides on a 120/70 R17 tire up front, while the rear tire is a 180-series 55R 17. Suspension travel is 4.7 inches in front and 5.2 inches in back. The rear suspension is handled by a pair of preload adjustable shocks, while the front is a 43 mm upside-down fork. Braking is handled in front by a pair of 320 mm semi-floating discs with two piston floating calipers, the rear is a single 245mm disc with a single position floating caliper. Seat height is 31.8 inches for the driver, while the pillion seat is just a few inches higher, creating a comfortable seating position for two-up touring, though the Ducati GT 1000 Touring is perhaps a bit on the bare necessities side for cross-country rides with a fickle passenger. With an overall weight of 407 lbs, the 3.9 gallon tank (1 gallon reserve) has plenty of range, which will be helpful during your warranty period's 2-year unlimited mileage provision.
An electronic instrument panel includes a speedometer, RPM gauge, low oil pressure light, high/low beam indicator, fuel reserve warning, LCD clock, turn signal flashers, and immobilizer indicator.
For short-distance touring, the 2009 Ducati GT 1000 is arguably one of the best bikes on the market. Available from $11, 995, this middleweight sport touring motorcycle is a strong contender for riders unimpressed with the current market flux of sport bikes turned touring motorcycles, and are looking for a retro-styled cruiser with history, pedigree, and a unerring sense of style that is unmatched by any other motorcycle company.

What is the BEST streetbike to LEARN how to ride?
Something besides a Ninja 250r because those are sold out everywhere and I cant find any used ones....but I need something that will be an enjoyable ride that I can learn on...not scare the crap and piss out of me.

what is the best streetbike for me?
im 17 years old about 5/7 140 lbs. i want to get a streetbike next may but not sure what bike to get. Ive been riding dirtbikes all my life from 2 strokes to 4 strokes. should i startt off on a ninja 250 or should i just get a suzuki gsxr-600 im really good at riding dirtbikes and all

what is the best streetbike for female beginner?
So the first time I was a passenger on a streetbike I was 11 yrs old I am now 20. I've been a passenger for a long time lol. Suzukis, yamahas, kawasakis. And now I want one, I guess always waiting on other people to go ride is getting old. I don't even know where to start.my bf has an R6 but he's not too fond of teaching me.any ideas ... Would it be dumb to start off on a ninja 250, I've been told ill most likely have it a year or less and end up wanting a 600. Do they sell books on changing gears and breaking and all that, if so are they helpful. I know the basic riders course/training is a must. But I want some more background knowledge. Hahah I know it was suppose to be 1 question and I asked a billion of em but any help would be truely appreciated :)
