The Race Is On To Find The 10 Best Yamaha Motorcycles

Yamaha is one of the world's leaders in Motorcycles. For years Yamaha has been manufacturing some of the most popular as well as some of the most high performing motorcycles in the world. What motorcycles were the very best that Yamaha has ever built? To find out you will have to read on.

1. YA-1

The YA-1 is the bike that started it all. The YA-1 was the first Yamaha Motorcycle ever made. The YA-1 performed as good as it looked and that is what makes this such a special bike and one of the ten best Yamaha products.

2. DT-1

The DT-1 was not the first bike by Yamaha but what makes this bike so special and on of the 10 best Yamaha motorcycles is that is was the first true off-road motorcycle and introduced the world to what would be come trailebikes. Not only was it the first of its kind in a popular field of motorcycle racing but it had great performance for its time along with equally great looks.

3. YD-1

The YD-1 was Yamaha's first 250cc engine which showed the world that Yamaha could produce something besides a small motorcycle. The YD-1 is another one of the 10 best Yamaha models that had great styling.

4. XJ600N

The one problem with the XJ600N is that it was not introduced to the North American market. This was a nice super bike. The XJ600N was similar to the XJ600S though so if you are a fan of the styling of the XJ600N you can just get a XJ600S.

5. XT660-X

What makes the XT660-X such a cool motorcycle and one of the 10 best Yamaha motorcycles is that is the only supermotor ever made by Yamaha. The XT660-X also is cool because it is an on/off road bike and can performwell in either case.

6. YZR-M1

The YZR-M1 has it all, it has looks, speed, and all around performance. This is a great racing bike. Originally introduced in 2002 this bike still races today.

7.DT-125

The DT-125 was a very popular sporting bike. To this day the DT-125 still remains a common site at races around the world.

8.YZ250

The YZ250 is on the list of top 10 Yamaha motorcycles because it is one of the longest running Yamaha productions. This bike dates back to the 1970's but is still being made, with regular updates of course. This is a classic motocross bike and many riders who have ridden a 250cc motocross have used this bike at one time or another.

9. YSR-50

The Yamaha YSR-50 is on the list of 10 best Yamaha models because it was a good starter bike. At only 50cc it was inexpensive to buy, and economical to run. This was a great motorcycle to bring people into either racing or even just to get them to step foot into the world of motorcycles.

10. YC-1

The YC-1 was the second motorcycle produced by Yamaha. The YC-1 introduced an odd sized 175cc motor but it was nice to see a larger motor from the first Yamaha which only had a 125cc motor.

All of these are great motorcycles that would be fun and thrilling to own. If you are looking for adventure any one of these motorcycles will be able to give you a good adventure.

What is the best small motorcycle?
I'm a Canadian. In BC, where I live, you don't need a designated bike license to ride anything under 50cc. I already know of one option I can take, which is the TOMOS Revival TS. (http://www.tomosusa.com/pages/model/revivalts). It does not achieve minimum freeway speed in Canada (60km/h, 40mph), which makes me a little nervous to purchase it. I've driven one before and it handles great, but doesn't get the speed I'd like. I plan to travel on a little motorcycle later on, so it also has to be durable. Also affordable - under $5000. Any help is great, even just information about licensing and insurance on a small bike such as the one above. Thanks! UNDER 50cc... as in 49cc or LESS. NOT 50cc. Also I'm looking for one that doesn't look like some dirt dike.
