Free Concerts, Entertainment In Atlantic City

Though everyone imagines a city full of costly glitter and glow when they think of Atlantic City, there are many free things to do and enjoy as well.

International Night Series

Kennedy Plaza, across the Boardwalk from the Atlantic City's world-famous Boardwalk Hall, hosts a weekly list of shows that include concerts and dance entertainment groups. The international series runs at 7 p.m., Wednesdays through the end of August. Upcoming shows include the Barynya Russian dance group on Aug. 11, Island Jam and its Polynesian dance performers (Aug. 18), and Bollywood Axion, a group of Bollywood and bhangra dance performers (Aug. 25).

Motorcycle Globe of Death

Riding on the street is easy compared to the stunts the Famous Flores Family perform. The Steel Pier, located on the Boardwalk and across from St. James Place., features the Motorcycle Globe of Death and the Famous Flores Family. The group gives awed spectators free daily performances. The Flores Family performs at 2 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays and at 11:45 a.m., 3 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the weekends.

Chicken Bone Beach jazz concerts

Chicken Bone Beach, the Atlantic City hub of African-American culture and heritage, features a free Thursday night series of jazz concerts that showcase Atlantic City's best performers. These free concerts are held from 7-10 p.m. through the end of August at Kennedy Plaza, located on the Boardwalk between Mississippi and Georgia Avenue.

Tony Mart's Mardi Gras on the Boardwalk

Tony Mart's, the nightclub made famous in the movie, "Eddie and the Cruisers, " promotes a weekly series of Mardi Gras performances also on the Kennedy Plaza Stage, located on the Boardwalk across from Boardwalk Hall. The concerts run from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.. Upcoming acts include George Porter Jr. and the Running Partners (Aug. 16), Cyril Neville with Jumpin' Johnny Sansone & Jeff Schwatcher (Aug. 23), Bonerama, a New Orleans Trombone Brass Band (Aug. 24), John Lee Hooker Jr and his Soul Band (Aug. 25), Guitar Shorty with LaMaster (Aug. 30) and Mitch Woods' tribute to Fats Domino (Sept. 5).

What is the best motorcycle stunt cage?
I'm looking to get a stunt cage for my 07 600rr. I see that there are different cages on the market with slightly different designs. Which cage and 12 bar company is the best? Although I am not into stunting, I do occasionally enjoy pulling a wheelie. The crash cage is to minimalize the damage on my motorcycle more than anything.
