Best Motorcycle Bike
The Best Motorcycle I Ever Owned
The best motorcycle I ever owned was a 2001 Honda Shadow 750. After trying several sports bikes, I finally decided to give cruisers a try and it was the best decision I could have made regarding motorcycles.
I enjoyed riding sports bikes too but, I had so much trouble getting comfortable. My wrist would hurt from leaning on the bars and I couldn't ride for long periods of time without pausing for a break due to discomfort. I had a few bad experiences with my sport bike. The worst happened when I dropped the bike and my foot was trapped beneath it. It was extremely painful and I decided that I would stop riding motorcycles until someone suggested that I try cruisers. Eventually I sold the bike to a co-worker who died years later in a motorcycle accident on a different bike. I had a hard time dealing with the loss and vowed to always ride safely.
A few months later, I succumbed to the suggestion and purchased my cruiser for $5000. It was fully loaded with crash bars, windshield, saddle bags and an alarm. I loved how the chrome looked against the shiny black metal. Most of all, I loved how comfortable I felt riding it. My wrist no longer hurt and the ride was always smooth.
Needless to say, it didn't take long to fall in love with my cruiser. I rode the bike with every opportunity I had. I dropped the bike a few times and the crash bars saved the day. The Honda Shadow had very good gas mileage and it worked great. Other than routine maintenance, I never had to invest anything in getting it fixed. My bike was reliable, comfortable, and very durable!
I loved my Honda Shadow because it seemed to fit me so perfectly. The bike didn't overpower me and I felt like I had control. As a female rider, the height and weight of the bike were compatible with my size. The bike was also compatible with my skill level because I hadn't been riding motorcycles for a long time. After owning a sports bike, my confidence in my ability to ride had gone down. My cruiser boosted my confidence within months of riding it.
No matter what motorcycle I own in the future, my Honda Shadow will keep a special place in my motorcycle heart. It is truly the best bike that I have ever ridden.

Best motorcycle/bike for a big man? Bigguns come hither!?
I am a 6'1, 300 lb man who has just completed MSF basic rider course and am now looking to buy my first bike (cruiser/chopper type) to save $ on gas. I would like to spend $2500-3000 or less on something that easily handles city/highway riding for 300-470 lbs (with wife), and possibly more if I add a small trailer later on (for camping trips 3 hours away). Year/make/model are really of little (no) issue. Comfort and "ride-ability" are of most importance, followed by price and available aftermarket options. Just wanted to get some input from the more experienced, "density challenged" folks like myself!
Any help would be much appreciated, and thanks for your time.
