American Custom Motorcycle
American Chopper: America's Best Television Show?
Since 2003, television audiences across America have been following the lives of a group of custom motorcycle builders from New York on a program titled American Chopper. Originally, American Chopper aired on the Discovery Channel, but since late 2007, the show has been telecast on the Learning Channel. I admit that I am somewhat behind the curve when it comes to viewership of American Chopper.Because I do not have cable TV, I was not able to regularly view the program until my local FOX TV affiliate began airing repeats of the program on Saturdays and Sundays a few months ago.
Through the years, I have owned and ridden many motorcycles, including at least three choppers. Having an extensive background with motorcycles and motorcycle culture, I must say that I am very impressed with American Chopper and feel that the show is actually quite realistic. After doing some thinking, I decided that in my opinion, American Chopper is one of the best television programs regularly aired today. Presented here, is an article in which I list my reasons why I think that American Chopper is one of America's top television programs.
The narration on American Chopper is friendly and accessible. The tone and language content of the narration is friendly and is understandable even to people who are completely unfamiliar with the world of motorcycles.
American Chopper regularly shows the concept of working together toward a common goal, which on this TV show is usually the building of custom motorcycles. Although the various cast members of the show, especially the Teutul family, often disagree about many things, by the end of the show, they always find a way to come together, to get the job done.
This television reality program regularly shows in - depth technical and mechanical work processes that were previously seldom, if ever shown on mainstream television shows. For motorcycle enthusiasts and mechanically - minded individuals, American Chopper offers a wide range of mechanical tips and ideas, while most other viewers receive insights into the world of custom motorcycle building.
American Chopper shows its viewers that bikers can actually be nice, reasonable people. Quite often, bikers are portrayed as being mean, anti - social and violent, but the real - life bikers on American Chopper frequently display acts of kindness and giving, as well as showing that they possess senses of humor, also. One of the things that American Chopper shows is that underneath the tattoos, long hair and leather jackets, bikers are just as human as anyone else and can actually be very nice people.
American Chopper maintains a sense of humor throughout. Quite often, during differences of opinion, Paul Teutul Sr, Paul Teutul Jr, Mikey Teutul, Vincent DiMartino and the other cast members will maintain a sense of humor, which often provides comic relief.
The American Chopper television program is an exciting show. Whether it be road shots of custom - built choppers, crowd shots at live appearances, the sounds of revving Harley - Davidson motorcycles or footage of rock bands performing, there is always something exciting to view on American Chopper.
American Chopper is also a patriotic television program. Many times, this show offers remarks and opinions that are strongly patriotic. When the cast members of American Chopper go on the road and make live appearances, the crowds that await them are frequently seen holding American flags and patriotic - themed signs. American Chopper is a purely - American television program that I personally think is one of the top TV shows currently being aired. It is hoped that the reasons I have listed here, to support that viewpoint are valid and interesting.
Sources : Personal experience viewing the program.
